This may have been the last day of steam and manned stations on the line. I can remember the posters, blue print on white, and "4th January 1965" at the top (I was 7 and lived in Edenbridge).

Andy is correct, to a point: it was the last day of steam hauled passenger trains at Redhill, both to Tonbridge and to Reading via Guildford. Steam continued to be used on some freight and parcels trains however.
