This looks like it was taken outside James Knight's the drapers. I had my first Saturday job here in their haberdashery department. The shop is still in the same location, but is no longer owned by the Knights, even though they have kept the name.

This picture is taken in Station Approach, Redhill outside of R Nicol & Son, Drapers. The building is still there although much changed at street level.

At first glance one could easily believe it was outside Knights in Reigate, however it appears Andrew Kulka could be right. Above the bus you see the large letter J to the left, which could be the J from J. Sainsbury which was the shop next door tp Nicols, now the cycle shop.

Having since enlarged the image above I can now see the full letting of J. Sainsbury and therefore this image is 100% confirmed as Station Road Redhill. In the photo below its the shop with the canopy where one can see the lettering above. Thanks
