The distance of the Hurst Park Trial Handicap four miles - was a good test for the Grand National candidates which ran. Mr. Sanford's Mount Etna gave a pleasing display, and eventually won easily, although he might not have done so had Lee Bridge not refused at the last fence. Left to right: Mount Etna, Ellaton, Test Match, Drinmond, Cash Box, Lee Bridge and Darracq.
