Although carrying the steadier of 12 st. 5 lbs. on a field of twenty in the Spring 'Chase at Newbury, the winner, Preface (left), was confidently backed to beat them all. The placed horses coming over the last fence together. Paxford (centre) was only beaten a neck, with Fortissimo third.
