This bus was not one of the native types. It is a Bristol LS with Eastern Coach Works body. The type is normally associated with Tilling Group fleets. It was probably on hire. The LT roundel would date the picture before 1 January 1970, when London Country became part of the National Bus Company (and adopted the 'gun carriage' or 'flying polo' logo. The LS chassis came into being circa 1954. If someone with a large screen could read and post the registration number of the bus, I can do further research. Hiring in was common under the NBC regime, for example some Bristol MW coaches which were on long term hire at Dunton Green garage.

This vehicle was not on hire but was one of three vehicles trialled by London Transport in 1953 for comparison with its standard RF vehicle. It was loaned by Bristol Tramways and Carriage Company and returned to them in 1954
