Fonthill Hotel - owner Ian Mason in the 1930's.

This is my father at Fonthill Hotel with a SS Jaguar. He owned Fonthill Hotel and I was born there. The car was his delight until mid 1940s when he could not get it repaired and gave it to someone stationed at Woburn Abbey in the RAF who could obtain or make the parts. He owned the Hotel until about 1949 when after his death it had to be sold. After the start of the war he should have been on duty in Redhill High Street as a Police Special Constable. A colleague had taken his place when a German plane flew low down the High St firing indiscriminately. My Father then bought a property in Buckinghamshire, where he hoped his family would be safe, and we lived there.
